It is a known fact that pesticides are poisonous by nature. Adulterated food which is produced with harmful chemicals and pesticides can cause serious risks to our health, including diseases like cancer, birth defects and obesity.
Many studies link pesticides to low birth weight, birth defects, neurological and behavioral problems, disrupted hormone function, autism, and cancer. The food which is naturally grown does not harm the body, as it is chemical-free and pesticide-free. It helps you so stay away from these diseases.
Organic foods may have added benefits even if their nutritional value is the same as that of the conventionally grown. it increases the consumption of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and essential fatty acids. For example: In terms of the vitamin C content, an orange grown organically and another conventionally may be the same, but the chemicals present in conventional food make it difficult for the body to absorb the vitamin C.
Ecological benefits
While trying to protect the crops from insects and rodents, Pesticides are damaging everything else. The water from the conventional lands, carrying pesticides with them, runs off into lakes and rivers. The contaminated water not only causes water pollution but is also harmful for aquatic animals.
The farmland gets subjected to so many chemicals, that its soil loses the nutrient value. The land becomes unfit for further production.
Organic farming does not lead to pollution in any form and reduces global warming impacts. It’s a sustainable form of farming as it helps to sustain our environment by preserving our non-renewable fossil fuels. It helps to use our resources in a way that we don’t further damage it.
Hence, organic food is much better for our environment and the future will surely showcase its environmental impact.
